Tackling Guac and Coke with Denver Broncos’ Miles
Commercial photography assignments always bring something new, and this time, I found myself in the kitchen with none other than Miles, the Denver Broncos’ mascot. The goal? Capture Miles whipping up some guacamole while sipping on a Coke—showcasing the perfect mix of laid-back fun and brand appeal.
This shoot wouldn’t have been nearly as smooth without the help of the incredible food stylist on set. From perfectly ripe avocados to the vibrant arrangement of ingredients, the stylist’s work really elevated the visuals. His attention to detail allowed me to focus more on the photography, knowing that the food elements would look fresh and appealing. I’m always thankful for collaborations like this, where everyone’s contributions make the final result shine.
The setup was designed to feel like a casual hangout, with Miles jumping into guacamole-making action. My job as a photographer was to ensure the imagery aligned with Coca-Cola’s playful brand identity while keeping everything visually clean and vibrant. I let the moments unfold naturally, capturing Miles in his element with a Coke by his side.
Lighting played a big role in creating the right vibe. I balanced natural light with soft artificial light to keep things relaxed yet polished. The challenge in commercial photography is finding that perfect balance between authenticity and brand precision, and this shoot was no exception.
In post-production, I focused on enhancing the colors, making the guacamole and Coke can pop without overwhelming the scene. The final images captured the familiar warmth and appeal Coca-Cola is known for, with thanks to the stylist’s great work in making everything pop.
At the end of the day, it was a great reminder of how teamwork and a creative environment make commercial photography so rewarding. Whether it’s a mascot making guac or a more polished corporate setting, each shoot tells its own story through the lens.
