Hot Off The Press!
I was thrilled to receive a copy of a magazine I created the cover photo for last summer. It features new Appraisal Institute president and Denver resident Rodman Schley.
Rodman appraises commercial buildings and so it made sense to try and shoot his portrait in a commercial building setting, something he and the photo editor leaned on me to secure. Well, finding a location indoors is a significant challenge in covid times. Most building managers are wary of allowing in any unnecessary visitor and rightfully so. I thought of a commercial building in DTC I knew was empty and even they were not keen on having us inside.
So I racked my brain for some outdoor locations and thought of Taxi, a mixed-use building complex in RiNo near my office. I went over and scouted it out and found several locations outdoors I thought were visually interesting. I proposed the idea to Rodman and, as luck would have it, it was a building he had appraised multiple times. Love it when a plan comes together!
And I love seeing my work in print. So exciting!
